Agrace Hospice Care Zensai Learn365 and EUM Admin Implementation

Providing volunteers specialized hospice training with Microsoft 365

The Client

Agrace Hospice Care’s role is to ensure all their patients, clients and their families have the personalized care they require. Agrace was founded in 1978 by volunteers who believed in the idea that comfort, dignity, and even hope, are possible for those facing a life-limiting illness. Agrace provides hospice and supportive care services in private homes, and in skilled nursing, assisted living and other community residential facilities across southern Wisconsin. They are the largest hospice provider in Wisconsin.

Agrace made the decision to go all in on Microsoft technologies as their main productivity suite. One of Agrace’s key user groups is their volunteer population; upskilling/training is crucially important to ensuring volunteers can provide quality care to their clients. With this in mind, it was a natural fit to implement Zensai, which is the only learning management system that is built in Microsoft 365 and Teams.

The Challenge

Agrace provides opportunities for volunteers aged 14 years and older. There are opportunities to work directly with patients and families, as well as office administrative work, hospitality, special events and thrift store customer service. Because volunteers do not need to come with any prior working experience, their onboarding training plays a key role in how successful they will be in delivering their duties. Agrace provides training on hospice practices and palliative care as well as a history and background of the organization.

Like many organizations that have invested in Microsoft 365, Agrace saw an opportunity to gain extended value from its investment through a cloud-based LMS platform built into Microsoft 365. Agrace needed a simple way to create and manage guest accounts for the volunteers and provide them access to Zensai to complete assigned training.

The Solution

Zensai and EUM partnered to meet Agrace’s requirements. Through EUM’s unique EUM Admin application, the learning administrator is able to provision the volunteer accounts without having to navigate the overly complex and cumbersome Azure Active Directory portal.

Roles that are created and managed through EUM Admin make it simple for the learning administrator to setup the user accounts that need to be assigned to training plans and courses within the LMS. When a user is assigned to a group in EUM, their account is automatically synced over to Zensai and enrolled into the applicable courses. This minimizes effort from an administrative perspective.

End users receive clear communications when they have been assigned specific training module. They simply login to the portal using the same password they use to login to their personal inbox. Once the user successfully signs in, they are brought directly into the Zensai course catalog based on the permissions assigned to them as part of their onboarding. Users can then take courses assigned to them at their own leisure.

The Results

The combination of EUM and Zensai Learn365 enables Agrace Hospice Care to deliver training to the volunteers they onboard and plays a crucial role in driving Agrace’s mission of providing personalized care and support. The platform has achieved high adoption from volunteers by creating a seamless user experience from start to finish. Learning administrator oversee the process of onboarding and assigning training plans without needing to become experts in Azure Active Directory user administration and maintenance.
