TSPUG Office 365 Developer Bootcamp is a free, one-day training event led by Microsoft MVPs with support from Microsoft and Toronto’s developer community. Attendees will learn the latest techniques for building solutions with Microsoft Graph, the SharePoint Framework, Microsoft Teams, Office Add-ins, and more. Each bootcamp includes hands-on labs for deep learning and a comprehensive view of development on the Office 365 platform. Developers will be able to apply these learnings and build products, add-ins, and other solutions right away. Extranet User Manager's President, Peter Carson, will be delivering a session on Electronic Forms and Alternative App Approaches.

Sessions are being held in the MPR A and B rooms at Microsoft Canada's head office in Mississauga, Ontario.


Agenda:

Microsoft Teams 10 AM - 12 PM

  • Create and test a basic Microsoft Teams app using Yeoman 
  • Create and test a basic Microsoft Teams bot using Visual Studio 
  • Call the Microsoft Graph API inside a tab

SPFx Development 10 AM - 12 PM

  • Module 1: Getting Started with the SharePoint Framework 
  • Module 2: Developing SharePoint Framework Web Parts 

SPFx Development 1 PM - 3 PM

  • Module 3: Developing SharePoint Framework Extensions (Lecture Only) 
  • Module 4: Deploying SharePoint Framework Web Parts and Extensions (Lecture Only)

Microsoft Graph 1 PM - 3 PM

  • Module 1: Build a .NET console application using Microsoft Graph 
  • Module 2: Build a JavaScript application using Microsoft Graph Hands On Labs 
  • Module 3: Authentication overview 
  • Module 4: Protocols in the v2.0 endpoint 
  • Module 5: Scopes and consent in the v2.0 endpoint 

Hands On Labs

  • Obtain tokens and connect with the Microsoft Graph using REST 
  • Connecting with Microsoft Graph using OpenID Connect 
  • Dynamic permissions with the v2.0 endpoint and Microsoft Graph

Office Add-Ins 3 PM - 5 PM

  • Build an Office Add-in using modern JavaScript tools and techniques 
  • Building Office Add-ins for Excel 
  • Building Office Add-ins for Word

Electronic Forms and Alternative Sharepoint App Approaches 3 PM - 5 PM

  • Microsoft Forms and Forms Pro 
  • Adaptive cards with input forms 
  • Power Apps forms and apps 
  • An SPFx and React form that dynamically generates its fields based on a SharePoint content type 
  • An interactive, responsive HTML form built with Bootstrap and standard HTML 5 that posts to a Flow workflow
